1990 / 2020 44’ Viking Motor Yacht “Never Mind”
“Never Mind” was the last great Viking 44’ double cabin motor yacht built by Viking Yachts. Built on a modified V-Hull she is a fast, comfortable cruising motor yacht that is permanently stored on a lift out of the water. This one is particularly unique. She was stripped down to the hull and completely refitted in 2020. She has two fiberglass hard tops, both with rigid acrylic windows. She also has a modified and enlarged swim platform enabling easier access to the stern lines, electrical and water connections. On the lower hard top there is a davit. She is powered by twin Detroit 671 JTs diesels that were majored less than 312 hours ago.
“Never Mind” offers two staterooms with two full heads that both have stall showers. During her retrofit in 2020 the owners had the main salon fitted with custom leather furniture, providing an elegant, teak walled living space with lots of storage. The galley kitchen area features a 6-Person settee, full galley with numerous upgrades including instahot spigot, convection microwave, large refrigerator and again lots of storage. A washer/dryer unit is concealed next to the galley for ease of use.

Port side of the salon is a new custom leather sofa with storage under all of the cushions. A matching barrel chair and footstool also have storage under their cushions. Aft of the salon is a full-size bulkhead mirror. Built-in cabinets hold additional storage space on both the starboard and port sides. There is a Visio Flat Screen TV mounted starboard, access to the AC salon panel and the ships electrical panel are also on this side. Window treatments and carpeting are all new as of 2020 and the sage green provides a cool relaxing space. Under the salon sole is easy access to the engine room and the generator.
The galley and dinette are two steps down for the salon. The galley is to the right and includes a large GE Convection Microwave unit, a Norcold Refrigerator with freezer, an Instahot spigot and lots of storage and countertop space. The dinette is opposite and breaks down into an additional sleeper unit. Under the seats is a central vacuum unit and more storage.
“Never Mind” has a full beam aft master stateroom with a walkaround Queen size bed. The stateroom has a large, wide cedar-lined closet. On both sides there are long sliding windows. Built-in teak cabinets provide lots of storage space and there are two hidden compartments for shoes beside the bed. Cabin lights, mirrors, speakers, and an air conditioning panel for easy access make this a spacious, comfortable cabin to cruise with. The private head has a spacious stall shower with teak folding doors and a solid teak door for privacy. The commode is a tall Vacuflush and mirrors with two large cabinets for toiletries comprise the rest of the space. The soft goods have all been custom made in 2020 and their soft blue colors with the seashell motifs provide a restful, relaxing atmosphere.
The guest stateroom is forward of the galley and laundry area. Again, a solid teak door guarantees privacy. There is a queen size V-Berth, a cedar-lined hanging locker and a series of pullout drawers on the port side. Again, redecorated in 2020, this reflects the sage colors with a Tommy Bahama type theme. Your guests have their own enclosed head with a vacuum flush commode, enclosed shower, sink and storage.
The full beam aft deck is covered with a fiberglass hardtop and it has a removable carpet. There is new custom removable aft deck furniture with a curved sofa, rocker and chair. A wet bar, ice maker and beverage refrigerator are all within easy reach for evening cocktails. Port and starboard of the aft deck are wing doors. The aft deck and the flybridge are both completely enclosed with EZ2CU acrylic windows that can be removed or slid out of the way for access. The Transom gate has a large ladder that leads to the custom oversized swim platform. Dock lines, electrical and water fittings are all easily and safely reached from the swim platform. Large U-Shaped brackets provide additional safety hand holds as well. The Flybridge is accessed from the aft deck. All stairways on this boat are only three to four steps and ease of access without ladders makes it very safe. The entire bridge has a second fiberglass hard top. There are two Captain seats. There is good guest bench seating on the starboard side of the yacht as well as in front of the helm. Storage again abounds, under the bench seats and under the front cowl.
There are new twin Raymarine touch screens that interface with the radar. A Garmin GPS Map 4208, a ST 7002 Smart Pilot, a ST 60+ Tri Data, Standard Horizon Loud Hailer LH3000 and a Standard Horizon Metrics GX2000 VHF. A WiFi/Bluetooth stereo provides music to cruise by!
A large walk around to the fore deck with bow rails and pulpit allows easy access to the anchor and electric anchor rode. There is covered seating on the bow with additional storage underneath. The hull is in amazing shape and the gel coat shows well. There are twin four blade props with Lasdrop shaft seals. Trim tabs and rudders are easily visible in the lift.
The engine room is exceptionally clean with twin freshwater cooled Detroit 671 JTs. An Onan 8 KW Generator with a sound shield and 599 hours showing on the hour meter. The entire engine room is accessible from the salon sole which raises up. AC units, a fire suppression system and a new Pro Nautic battery Charger are also located in the engine room. A Glenndenning cable master is located in the master stateroom with a 50-amp cord.
