Location
The Sea Ray 480 Motor Yacht features quiet, twin 616-horsepower Cummins QSM-11 engines providing a stealthy departure (no wake, of course) from the Marina.
For entertaining, the large aft deck has a wet bar, as well as a Fusion marine entertainment sound system and Bose and Sony speakers, plus controls for the custom laser light and fog machines mounted on the outside upper deck space. A fiberglass hardtop and complete canvas surround protects passengers from the elements. Five textured steps lead to the custom upgraded submerging hydraulic swim platform with a cradle for your jet ski and concealed stainless steel ladder.
From the large aft deck and helm station, port and starboard wing doors lead to walkways to the foredeck. They are wide and textured for safe passage. Custom cushions turn the forward lounge area into a large sunpad.
Down below, a large main salon is at the center of the living area. It is a full “Mermaid Lounge” with custom decoration throughout.
Guest staterooms are located forward, as is the guest head and shower. Master stateroom is aft and spans the full aft beam.
Sleeps 6 in comfort and privacy.
The galley of this 480 Motor Yacht makes wonderful use of space with a custom molded fiberglass countertop, sink with faucet, recessed three-burner stove, microwave, coffeemaker, and a refrigerator / freezer. Custom décor features a no maintenance aquarium molded into the L-shaped galley countertop area.
A washer / dryer combo is located in the step storage utility compartment located below the galley. Separate engine room access is easily reached at midships below the main salon seating area through a lifting floor hatch.
Welcome to the Mermaid lounge! Enter through the companionway door to port of the main helm and into the large and bright space below deck.
Three non-skid molded steps down from the helm and aft cockpit lead you into a huge interior living and entertainment area. Generous headroom of 6’4” throughout.
To port is a 3-seater couch in Ultraleather. To starboard is a huge U-shaped wrap around couch for up to 8 people. Both seating areas incorporate pull-out ottomans that double as storage. Additional individual seating and tables can be moved or secured as needed.
Moving forward is the step down to the full galley, forward staterooms and head.
Below and midships is easy access to the engine room through a hatch that is lifted on gas struts.
Custom interior decorations include:
Aft and to port of the companionway entry is access to the main breaker panels, generator and a/c systems. Full aft and spanning the entire beam below the cockpit and helm area is a very generously sized Master cabin.
The aft bulkhead mounted entertainment center features TV, entertainment and Bose sound system.
Full galley is to port, with a step-up dinette across and to starboard.
Master stateroom is located aft and spans the full beam of the aft hull.
Access is through a privacy door from the aft area of the main salon, to port of the steps. Door is enhanced with custom engraving. Four carpeted steps lead down to the stateroom.
The starboard vanity has a sink and plenty of storage and separates the private head with VacuFlush toilet from the private shower with seat and adjustable shower wand.
Features include:
Both Guest Staterooms are located forward.
A full-size bed with innerspring mattress is at the center of the forward guest stateroom. The custom metal carving integrated into the headboard is the focal point of the forward stateroom. A portside storage cabinet with drawers, and a starboard full-length hanging locker with lights and beveled mirrors, provide storage. There is also a flat-screen TV, as well as private access to the forward head and shower compartment.
Two acquaintances can stay quite comfortably in the twin berths of the guest stateroom. Filler cushions will convert the berths into a king-size bed. This stateroom features hanging lockers, full sized closet, and fold-down flat screen TV and DVD player.
The forward head compartment features a VacuFlush head, a solid-surface vanity countertop with sink and faucet. The circular shower features a custom decal engraved door, a shower with seat, adjustable shower wand, and removable teak grate.
The helm and aft deck are on the same level so you can socialize while running the boat.
The helm is also positioned lower and farther aft than it is on other motoryachts, which makes the ride feel smoother and more stable. The helm features a full control panel and adjustable bench seating.
Abaft the helm is a wet bar, sink and trash receptacle, electrical outlets, controls for the sound system and laser light show. A sturdy searail rings its broad, flat fiberglass top. The self-bailing after deck is large enough to accommodate six folding chairs and a portable table. Relax from within the protection of the hardtop and its full four-sided enclosure.
Nonslip steps lead down from the aft deck to the upgraded submersible hydraulic swim platform equipped with a stainless/aluminum cradle for your jet ski or tender. There is also a stainless swim ladder concealed beneath a hatch. Note that the hatch is angled outboard. Why is this important? When you come off plane, and your wake washes up on the platform, the hatch won\'t be thrown open by the surge of water. It\'s an elegant solution to a common problem. The transom shower is mounted at the top of the boarding steps.
Port and starboard wing doors lead to wide sidedecks from the aft deck. Cabin-mounted grabrails and a high bowrail makes going forward secure. 4 rod holders are mounted at the top rail. A kayak holder is mounted on the portside railing.
Your ground tackle stows in a stainless-steel chute that\'s beneath a butterfly hatch that also conceals the windlass, a washdown spigot, and the windlass manual-operation handle.
Check out the screwheads on the hatch hinges and, for that matter, any of the fasteners on the boat\'s exterior. They shine with a silvery brilliance. That\'s because Sea Ray uses chrome-plated stainless steel fasteners, which inhibit the bleeding stains that non-plated fasteners can cause. Also note the caulk seam around the perimeter of the cabin top. Since hacking the boat open with a reciprocating saw would be indelicate, this portion of the deck comes off, making engine removal easier if you choose to repower.
