This is a serious passagemaker with a bulbous bow beneath her waterline (to increase her hull speed), a full displacement hull, and an unusually wide full length keel that allows for a stand up ship-like engine room. Her three stateroom, two head layout is arranged with the galley in the saloon and a full beam master stateroom amidship. A very seaworthy yacht with uncompromising quality, the Nordhavn single continuous duty rated 325 hp Lugger diesel delivers almost 3,500 miles range at 8 knots.
Note the 46hp auxiliary get home diesel, stabilized , watermaker, twin 16KW generators, 1000 lb davit, two 2500 watt inverters, 24 volt bow thruster , three station microcommander engine controls, floscans.

The Nordhavn 57 is a full-displacement passagemaker with all the \nnecessary features of an ocean crosser. The construction is to the same \nheavy scantlings as her sister ships, but the design differs in styling \nand interior volume. The 57 maintains a rugged, commercial look while \ninterfacing a contemporary elegance, and offers a level of performance \nthat expands the envelope of top cruising speed and long range \npotential. The hull and its bulbous bow have been fine-tuned. A \ncombination of a parabolic-shaped bulb, fuller sections aft, and a stern\n designed to minimize drag-inducing suction at high cruising speeds, \nallows this vessel to run efficiently at speed. The 57 offers cruising \nspeeds above what is normally possible in a full-displacement hull while\n maintaining the benefits of this hull form, such as ocean crossing \ncapability, reduced noise and vibration levels, heavy construction \nscantlings, and greater safety - comfort. For semi-planing hulls to \nachieve planing speeds, weight must be minimized which adversely effects\n seaworthiness and long-range capability. Additionally, the seakeeping \nqualities of the higher-speed models are compromised due to their light \ndisplacement - length ratios, small rudders, and shallow keels. The 57 \nfeatures an interior volume - overall length ratio higher than previous \nNordhavn designs. This increase in space is due to a greater beam - \nlength ratio, increased volume in hull sections, and the beam carried \nfarther aft. Additional innovations include a walk-in engine room with \ndual work benches, a deep lazarette with shelves, a large cockpit, a \nswim platform with access door, a large flybridge, and fiberglass fuel \nand water tanks.
The galley, at the forward end of the salon, is \narranged for gourmet meals aboard, with Corian style counter tops and \ndual stainless sinks. The propane stove is a Force 10 with three \nburners, broiler, and oven, complete with two 30 LB aluminum gas tanks. \nSubzero refrigerator and freezer, in sink garbage disposal, GE \nconvection microwave, Grohe Lady Lux faucet. There is a Sea Freeze \nicemaker in the salon, a Force 10 barbecue grill in the cockpit, and a \nGE freezer in the lazerette. There is a full size Whirlpool washer and \ndryer, and a built in Nutone central vacuum system
