Description
1985 Scarborough 41′
The Retriever, built in 1985 by Ricky Scarborough in Wanchese, NC is widely regarded as one of the prettiest boats to ever come out of the shop of a builder whose product was known for looks, ride and function. Considered to be proportionally perfect, her lines are timeless and portray the true essence of what a classic Carolina boat should look like. Her current owner is only the second in line and has had her for the last 15 years, maintaining her well and enjoying a successful private fishing and tournament schedule that kept the boat between Wrightsville Beach, Hatteras and Oregon Inlet. Along the Carolina coast, she is known to be a head turner as well as a fishing machine. She has 1885 hours on a set of Cummins 450C mechanicals, 24 knot cruise, burning 24gph, new generator, recently replaced fuel tanks and teak deck, new bridge enclosure in 2019 and full paint job and refurbished hardtop in 2017. She is currently in the yard getting freshened up, with seasonal bottom job, prop speed on running gear, hull / topside polish and detail, annual coast guard check and exterior varnish maintenance. There aren’t many of these 41s around so if you want to get in the game on a clean and classy little bridge boat with a good reputation, then come and feast your eyes on the Retriever. She stands out in a crowd…
